Coors Field serves some of the best stadium food in the country

DENVER (KDVR) — While the Colorado Rockies won’t win any awards this year with their last-place finish in the NL West, Coors Field will be nationally recognized.

USA Today’s 10 Best summarizes a list of 20 nominees for competitions that include food, lodging and travel. Readers can then make the final decision and vote for their favorite choices.

Home of the Colorado Rockies, Coors Field is the only ballpark where fans can sit a mile high and watch America’s favorite pastime. While there’s nothing special about the team this season, USA Today said the food was worth the trip.

“Coors Field in Denver serves classic baseball dishes as well as unique Colorado-inspired dishes, fusing local flavors with Rocky Mountain favorites like green chili, Buffalo burgers and craft beers from local brews. However, the stadium is famous for its Rocky Mountain oysters and offers an adventurous dining experience for those who dare try it,” USA Today said.

There are 14 regular-season home games left, which means there’s still time to snag a Rockies ticket and sample some of the food. If you don’t settle for last place for the Rockies, at least you can still support the home team and their award-winning squad.
