Eva Mendes reveals why she quit acting to raise children

Choosing motherhood over an acting career was a no-brainer for Eva Mendes, who at the age of 50 has fully embraced her role as mother of two daughters with her partner Ryan Gosling.

During a recent one Interview with TodayMendes shared her joy at prioritizing family life, explaining, “It was like a given. [And I was like]“I would be so happy if I could spend this time with my children.” Although she has retired from her successful acting career to concentrate on raising her daughters Esmeralda Amada (9) and Amada Lee (7), the Retired actress continues to lead a productive professional life away from film sets, given the demanding travel that acting often entails, saying, “Acting takes you to the locations.” It takes you with it.

When discussing being a stay-at-home mom with her husband Gosling, 43, Mendes recalls, “It was almost like a nonverbal agreement that it was like, ‘Okay, he’s going to go to work and I’m going.’ ‘ to work. I’ll just work here,” he added: “He went and did his job. He’s just really good at his job. And he did and came home.”

The couple, who began their journey together on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines in 2012, share great respect for each other’s careers, with Mendes particularly in awe of her husband’s dedication to his craft. “I’ve never experienced anything like that,” she said, looking back on their time together, which significantly influenced her decision to interrupt her acting career.

While the mother of two doesn’t accompany Gosling to every red carpet event, her support for him is evident on social media, particularly evident during awards season and after the release of Barbie. Mendes used her platform to cheer him on during his memorable performance of “I’m Just Ken” at the 96th Academy Awards. Split an open moment from the Oscar rehearsals on Instagram with the caption “Siempre con mi hombre” and later a celebratory message after the performance: “You took Ken all the way to the Oscars, RG. Now come home, we need to put the kids to bed.” with a kiss emoji.
